coffee and rain: how the collaboration came about
On 8 October 2026, La Marzocco announced a collaboration with Rains, the Danish brand known for minimalist, waterproof design. The joint project was created with work behind the bar in mind and has two parts: a limited-edition barista apron and a single, one-of-a-kind Linea Mini.
The collection was presented at the Rains flagship store in Copenhagen. The pairing is no coincidence. Rains designs products that stand up to water, and a coffee bar is a place where water, steam and milk are everywhere.

The apron is made from the technical fabric Rains uses in its products. It is fully waterproof and easy to clean, so milk splashes or coffee grounds wipe off without washing the whole apron. It has a loose, adjustable cut designed for long shifts.
An interesting detail is the hardware: besides its main role, it doubles as hooks for a cloth. Anyone who has worked a morning rush knows how many times an hour you reach for a cloth for the steam wand and drip tray. Here it's always at hand.

linea mini by officine fratelli bambi
The second part of the collection is a one-off Linea Mini made exclusively for Rains stores. From La Marzocco's Instagram post we know what its finish looks like:
- a hand-satined stainless steel body that echoes the brushed metal in Rains store interiors;
- photo-engraved steel plates with both brands' logos;
- photo-engraved and enamelled control panels;
- knobs, portafilter handle, paddle and feet in naturally anodised aluminium;
- a satin-finish cup rail with laser-cut round holes, echoing the perforated shelving in Rains stores.

The effect is calm and raw at the same time: instead of colour, the texture of the metal and small details do the work, which is exactly what the Danish brand's interiors are known for.
what officine fratelli bambi and the linea mini are
Officine Fratelli Bambi is La Marzocco's customisation workshop. It produces machines with non-standard finishes for specific projects and clients, such as the Linea Mini for Rains.
The Linea Mini is the home version of the Linea, the machine known from cafés. It brings the character and look of a professional machine to the home kitchen, in a smaller body.
can you buy the collection in poland?
No. Neither the Rains edition of the Linea Mini nor the apron is on sale in Poland, including from us. Enquiries about the Linea Mini can only be made through the Rains website. This article is for information: we're writing about it because it's an interesting example of how La Marzocco combines espresso machines with design.
